Here is how to clean a mirror without streaks: dust it first, then spray glass cleaner or plain water onto a microfibre cloth, never straight onto the mirror, and wipe from top to bottom. Buff with a second dry cloth. Switch LED mirrors off first, keep liquid away from the edges, and clean velvet frames with a dry microfibre cloth or soft brush.
Mirrors in Pakistani homes work hard. Lahore dust settles on everything within a day, bathrooms in Karachi stay humid for hours, and a full length mirror in a busy bedroom collects fingerprints from everyone who passes. This guide gives you safe, general cleaning habits for the glass and for each type of frame we sell. It is general good practice, not a manufacturer’s manual; if you are unsure about a particular mirror, ask us on WhatsApp.
Streak-free glass
Streaks usually come from too much liquid, a dirty cloth or cleaning in bright sunlight, which dries the cleaner before you can wipe it. A simple routine:
Dust first. Wipe the glass with a dry microfibre cloth to lift dust and grit, so you do not rub it across the surface.
Spray the cloth, not the mirror. Lightly dampen a clean microfibre cloth with glass cleaner or plain water. Spraying the glass directly lets liquid run down into the frame and the edges.
Wipe top to bottom. Work in straight lines from the top, then go over it once more in the other direction.
Buff dry. Finish with a second dry microfibre cloth.
Toothpaste and hairspray spots. Soften them with a warm, damp cloth for a moment first, rather than scraping.
Wash microfibre cloths without fabric softener, which leaves a film that causes streaks.
LED mirrors need a little more care, because the lights, the touch sensor and the wiring sit behind and around the glass.
Switch the mirror off before cleaning, and unplug it or switch off the socket if you can reach it easily.
Use a dry or barely damp microfibre cloth. Never spray liquid straight at an LED mirror.
Keep ammonia-based glass sprays and harsh chemicals away from the LED edges, the etched patterns and the touch sensor.
Wipe the touch sensor gently with a dry cloth; pressing hard does not help.
In the bathroom, run the exhaust fan or open a window after a shower so moisture does not sit on the mirror for hours.
Some of our LED mirrors have anti-fog glass, such as the Aurora Anti-Fog LED Mirror (Rs 8,900), the Ethereal Feather and the Nova, which helps keep the glass clear after a hot shower. Anti-fog is not a reason to skip cleaning, though; the same gentle routine applies. If an LED mirror stops lighting up, do not open it yourself. Message us on WhatsApp 0321-4858962 with a short video and we will help. For more on choosing one, see our LED mirror buying guide.
Velvet frame care
Our velvet wave mirrors, such as the Cream Velvet Wave Mirror (Rs 14,800), have a padded, velvet-textured frame. Velvet holds dust and lint, especially in pale colours like cream and blush, so it likes little and often:
Brush the frame once a week with a dry microfibre cloth or a soft, dry clothes brush, following the direction of the pile.
A lint roller lifts hair and fluff quickly.
Keep water, glass cleaner and sprays off the fabric. When you clean the glass, spray the cloth, not the mirror, and keep the cloth away from the velvet edge.
For a small mark, blot gently with a clean, barely damp cloth; do not rub. Test on a hidden spot at the back first.
Keep velvet mirrors out of long hours of harsh direct sun where you can. The Sage Moss Wave Mirror has a fade-resistant finish, but gentle placement is still good practice.
Darker colours such as navy hide dust longer; pale colours need a quick brush more often. For choosing between colours, see our guide to the wave mirror trend.
Chrome
The Chrome Reflection Wave Mirror (Rs 16,500) has a polished chrome-silver frame. Like any high-shine finish it shows fingerprints, but it wipes clean easily.
Use a soft, dry microfibre cloth for dust and fingerprints.
For a stubborn mark, use a cloth barely dampened with plain water and dry straight away.
Avoid rough scrubbers, scouring powder and harsh cleaners, which can scratch the shine.
When moving the mirror, keep the frame away from sharp edges.
The same care suits other framed mirrors in our range, such as the matte black Midnight Contour and Horizon Curve and the gold-frame Gilded Arch.
Wood
Our wooden mirrors, the Organic Wave Oak Mirror, the Cub Oak Bear-Ear and the Ash Wood Bear-Ear, have natural wood frames with a visible grain.
Dust with a dry, soft cloth, following the grain.
For sticky fingerprints, wipe with a cloth barely dampened with plain water, then dry at once.
Never soak the wood or leave it wet, and keep glass cleaner off the frame.
Keep wooden frames away from heaters and from constant bathroom steam.
Spraying any liquid straight onto a mirror, especially an LED one.
Ammonia sprays near LED edges, touch sensors and etched patterns.
Paper towels, newspaper or rough cloths that leave lint or scratch.
Scouring pads, steel wool, abrasive powders or razor blades on the glass or frames.
Bleach and strong household chemicals on any frame.
Water on velvet, or soaking a wooden frame.
Cleaning an LED mirror while it is switched on.

Questions we get asked

Dust it first, then spray glass cleaner or plain water onto a microfibre cloth, not onto the mirror. Wipe from top to bottom and buff dry with a second clean microfibre cloth.
How do I clean an LED mirror safely?
Switch it off first, then wipe with a dry or barely damp microfibre cloth. Never spray liquid straight onto it, and keep ammonia sprays away from the LED edges and touch sensor.
How do I clean a velvet mirror frame?
Brush it with a dry microfibre cloth, a soft clothes brush or a lint roller. Keep water and sprays off the fabric, and blot small marks gently with a barely damp cloth after testing a hidden spot.
Can I use an ammonia glass cleaner on my mirror?
Keep ammonia-based sprays away from LED mirrors, their edges and touch sensors. On plain glass, spray a little onto a cloth rather than the mirror, and keep it off velvet, wood and metal frames.
How often should I clean my mirror?
Dust the glass and frame weekly, or more often in dusty weather. Clean the glass properly whenever marks build up, and brush pale velvet frames a little more often than dark ones.
What if my LED mirror stops working?
